Walls are going up on new cottage homes and hybrid homes.

Earth moving equipment and drilling rigs cover the site of new residential living homes. Storm water controls, roads and building pads have been formed. Storm water, sewer and water lines have been installed and wells for geothermal heating and cooling drilled. Benchmark Construction Company, Brownstown, is overseeing the work.
The expansion includes 23 cottage homes scheduled for completion this summer and 25 hybrid homes to be completed in the fall. The homes are targeted for LEED * Silver certification, with features such as preserving open space, reducing surface parking and the associated heat-island effects, renewable energy through geo-thermal heating and cooling, rain water harvesting, measures to ensure indoor air quality and use of many energy-efficent materials and construction methods.
