The Freedom Program

The Freedom Program at Landis Homes represents our dedication to your loved one in providing a safe, clean, comfortable and home-like environment.  Our goal is to provide an environment enhancing the quality of life for residents, in accordance with their preferences.

Striving to meet this goal, we have reevaluated our efforts in how we keep a resident safe from falls.  In the past, if someone fell, one of the first plans of action was to apply an alarm to the resident’s bed, chair or clothing in an effort to keep them safe. Through research, we have discovered that this can lead to further problems for residents and it is no longer considered a safe practice.  As a result, we are eliminating these alarms in favor of individualized alternatives to contribute to the safety and well-being of the resident.
