Faith Hoover, Director of Adult Day Services at Landis Homes received the Distinguished Service Award as Manager of the Year 2017 at the LeadingAge PA annual conference in Hershey, PA, on June 21.
This award, according to LeadingAge PA is “presented to an outstanding mentor who has nurtured, coached, counseled and encouraged others in order to help them develop personally and professionally as an individual or as part of a team.”
Hoover, a registered nurse, has given leadership to the adult day services program since 1997. She gave direction as the program grew from serving 30 persons in one center, to serving up to 66 persons daily in two centers, one of which is dedicated to serving clients with memory loss.
“Faith Hoover is a strong leader with a longstanding reputation and expertise in the field of memory loss and memory care,” began the description of her in the LeadingAge PA awards program notes.
It went on to say how she gave leadership to the memory care center and the home care services program and that she continues to provide leadership for the monthly memory loss support group.
In the larger community, Hoover is a resource speaker on the topics of memory loss, community services and caregiving. She also serves as the central region representative for the board of PADSA (Pennsylvania Adult Day Services Association).
LeadingAge PA is a trade association representing Pennsylvania not-for-profit organizations, like Landis Homes, that provide housing, healthcare and community services primarily to the elderly.
Hoover, along with friends, family and colleagues was hosted at a brunch following the award presentation, attended by other distinguished award winners who won in six additional categories.
“I was honored and humbled to receive this award,” said Hoover. “Serving with and for wonderful people is my daily privilege.”
