Landis Homes recently announced the appointment of two new members to its board of directors. They are Pam Breneman and Sue Shirk. The new board members will be joining other members including board Chair Daniel Mast, Treasurer David Hernley as well as other continuing board members Joseph Caputo, Sandra Harnish and Rachel Hess.

 

Pamela J. Breneman, of Strasburg, is a solo attorney focusing on child dependency, guardianship and custody matters, representing persons found incapacitated by the courts in partnership with Esteemed Care, LLC. Pam has completed mediation training at the Lancaster Mediation Center as well as collaborative law training.

Breneman’s education includes a juris doctorate from Widener University School of Law and a BSE in Social Science from Millersville University. She and her husband Donald are the parents of four and the grandparents of seven. She is a member of Willow Street Mennonite Church.

Susan D. Shirk is the new resident board member replacing Anna Grace Martin. Shirk recently retired after serving as Landis Homes Director of Volunteer Services at Landis Homes since 2004. Prior to working here, Sue worked as an administrator for Mennonite Central Committee, Akron, MTS Travel, Ephrata, and Eastern Mennonite University, Harrisonburg, VA.

Shirk has a Bachelor of Science degree from Eastern Mennonite University and she graduated with a Master of Social Work degree from Marywood University in Scranton.  Shirk serves as a board member of Schürch Family Association of North America and is the co-founder and former board member of the Nazareth Project, Inc., supporting the Nazareth Hospital in Israel. She is a member of East Chestnut Street Mennonite Church.

“I bring my work experiences to the board and anticipate serving together with others in maintaining Landis Homes as a flourishing community.”
