This summer Daniel McClain started as the Director of Dining Services and Moniqua Acosta began as the Director of Volunteer Services.

In his new role, McClain will direct and manage all the dining venues across campus, including the new bistro which will open in spring 2018 in the Learning & Wellness Center. He received a B.S. degree in psychology from Messiah College, Grantham, PA, and was certified as a dietary manager at the University of Florida. McClain has broad management experience in retirement communities and senior living locations. Since 2006, he has been an employee of FLIK Lifestyles which manages the dining program at Landis Homes.  McClain and his wife plan to move to the Lancaster area in the near future.  He was born in Lansdale and graduated from Christopher Dock High School. He says his first job was as a dishwasher at Dock Woods Retirement Community (now part of Living Branches). He enjoys cooking, biking, volleyball, collecting primitive antiques and taking road trips. “I look forward to becoming part of a community in Lancaster County that embraces the founding values of Landis Homes,” says McClain.  “I see it as a place where I can build relationships with residents and other associates and grow as a servant leader.”

Beginning in July, Acosta was named the new Director of Volunteer Services. In this role, she gives overall direction to every aspect of the department which involves hundreds of volunteers recruited both on and off campus. She was most recently employed as Volunteer Services Assistant at Landis Homes since January 2016 with Sue Shirk as the director. Before coming to Landis Homes, Acosta worked for 9 years as Program & Member Services Manager at Mennonite Health Services. Acosta, who graduated from Lancaster Mennonite School, has a baccalaureate degree in Social Work from Eastern Mennonite University, Harrisonburg, VA, and a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Temple University.  She lives in Lancaster with her husband and three children and serves on many committees for the Manheim Township School District where her children attend. They attend New Holland Spanish Mennonite Church. Acosta also serves as vice chair of the Wellspan Philhaven board.  “I have found Landis Homes to be a wonderful place to work and I look forward to exploring new and creative ways to grow the department so as to provide meaningful experiences for volunteers, residents, resident families and team members,” says Moniqua.  “I hope people will call me to find out more!”
