Mim, a current resident of Landis Homes, brings a wealth of experience and dedication to the board, enhancing the organization’s commitment to providing exceptional care and services to its community.

Mim Book, a member of EastChestnut Street Mennonite Church, has an extensive background in pastoral work and administration. Her vocations include serving as a Pastor and in five interim pastoral assignments, as well as an Administrator for the Mennonite Denomination in Elkhart, IN. Currently, Mim is actively involved as a volunteer on the Pastoral Care Team at East Chestnut St. Mennonite.

With a history of service on multiple boards, both national and regional, Mim possesses a deep understanding of good board practices and governance. Her prior board experience includes positions at Dock Woods and Living Branches Retirement Community, where she served for five years before resigning to fulfill an interim pastoral assignment in Nebraska.

Mim’s skills extend beyond her boardroom experience, encompassing a keen understanding of the relationship between staff and the board, as well as organizational dynamics and structure. Her quote reflects her commitment to lifelong learning and dedication to the well-being of individuals and families: “Being on the Board at Dock Woods when it affiliated with Souderton Mennonite Homes was educational. My years as Marketing Director at Philhaven awakened the biases with mental health.”

She further emphasized the importance of pastoral care in her quote, drawing on her vast experience as a pastor in seven congregations: “My vocation as a pastor, particularly in pastoral care, in seven congregations has invited me to be present pastorally with individuals/families in various seasons of life, from birth to death, celebrations, and end of life.”

Mim’s recent training as an End of Life Doula has deepened her belief in the significance of care during this season of life, emphasizing the importance of supporting both individuals and their families. Glen Moffett, Landis Homes Board Chair, says, “We are very grateful for the many talents and diverse life experiences that Mim Book brings to the Landis Homes board. She has demonstrated her passion for Landis Homes’ faith-based mission of providing compassionate care for seniors.
