Ways to Give

Gifts to Impact Residents Today

Cash or Check

Checks can be made payable to Landis Homes and mailed to Advancement, Landis Homes, 1001 East Oregon Rd., Lititz, PA 17543. The Advancement Office is located in the Calvin G. & Janet C. High Learning & Wellness Center.

You may designate your gift by indicating a specific fund in the memo line. Gifts without fund designation will be treated as “unrestricted donations” in accordance with our gift acceptance policies and used for operations of the organization.

Online Gifts

Landis Homes uses a secure donation platform for online

gifts. Your information is encrypted and stored securely via our payment software. If you have any questions about online giving, please call 717-509-5490.

Monthly Gifts

You can make a monthly gift to support Landis Homes. Your monthly gift can cover the cost of a resident’s care and sustaining the future of the Caring Fund.

Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD)

As young as 70.5, you can make a qualified charitable distribution from your IRA (Individual Retirement Account) to Landis Homes. By age 73, you will be required to take an RMD (required minimum distribution) and directing a gift to Landis Homes can help you avoid paying income tax on your RMD.

Donating Assets or Real Estate

Appreciated stocks or mutual funds in a taxable investment portfolio present a significant opportunity to pay less tax and simplify your giving. You can also make a gift of real estate such as a home or property.

Gifts to Impact Residents in the Future

Charitable Gift Annuity (CGA)

A charitable gift annuity (CGA) is a unique gift that provides a lifetime of fixed annuity payments, tax benefits, and a gift to Landis Homes. Annuity rates vary by age and a $10,000 minimum is required. As of January 1, 2024, rates for CGAs have increased by approximately 0.4% depending on the age of the annuitant. (These rates were reconfirmed on May 19, 2025.)

One life gift annuity rates are now:

• age 65 rate 5.7%
• age 70 rate 6.3%
• age 75 rate 8.0%
• age 80 rate 8.1%
• age 85 rate 9.1%

Two life gift annuity rates are now:

• age 65-65 rate 5.0%
• age 70-70 rate 5.5%
• age 75-75 rate 6.2%
• age 80-80 rate 6.9%
• age 85-85 rate 8.1%

Funding a CGA with an IRA

One important and time-sensitive opportunity for people 70.5+ comes to us through the SECURE 2.0 Act of 2023, which gives donors the opportunity to use a one-time distribution of up to $55,000 in 2026 from an IRA to fund a CGA without a tax penalty. This distribution also counts towards an individual’s yearly required minimum distribution (RMD). Please contact the Advancement office for additional information.

Naming Landis Homes as a Beneficiary

You can name Landis Homes as a beneficiary of your will, life insurance, or an IRA. This is an easy way to make a donation of any size.

Fund Designations

You can choose to give a one-time gift or set up a recurring gift schedule.  For the option of recurring gifts, call the Advancement Office at 717-509-5490, and we will be happy to assist you. To give to one of these funds online, please click on the appropriate button. To give via check, please put the fund name in the memo line.

There are often a significant number of residents in personal care and health care who, through no fault of their own, have outlived their financial resources and are no longer able to pay the total cost of their care. Even with governmental assistance, a gap remains between the full cost of care and what some residents can pay.

The Caring Fund was created in 1993 through the advocacy of Francis and Elsie Harvey, who were Landis Homes residents since 1985. As Francis was visiting many residents, playing his harmonica, and spreading good cheer, he surmised that some of his friends were outliving their financial resources, often near the end of their lives. He began to advocate for a way to partner with Landis Homes who was and is committed to providing continuing care. Francis and Elsie were the first contributors to the Caring Fund. Many Friends of Landis Homes have contributed regularly to give others peace of mind and assist in providing benevolent care.

Giving Circles

Legacy Circle

A special group of friends who have informed us that their estate plan includes Landis Homes as a beneficiary of a will, insurance policy, retirement plan annuity or other legacy gift. There is no minimum gift and donors have an option whether to share specific gift information.

Sustaining Partners

Friends who have given gifts to Landis Homes for 10 or more consecutive years.

21^st Century Leaders 

Friends who have contributed $15,000 or more during their lifetime.

Corporate Circle

Members are businesses who make an annual contribution or sponsorship of $2,500 or more.

Privacy Statement: Landis Homes never releases your private information, whether in hard copy, electronic or virtual form, to any outside agency. We value our privacy and we certainly value yours. Information collected is for internal and communication use only and will not be sold, distributed, or made publicly available.

It is important to us that we follow your wishes as to whether you as a donor consent to be publicly recognized in our newsletters/annual report/website or whether you wish to be an anonymous donor and not have your name printed. All gifts to Landis Homes are voluntary and in no way are a requirement for employment, admission or continued stay as well as the invitation or continuation of a business relationship.
