Art Reception Features Local Painter–Sept. 19
An art reception will be held in the Crossings Gallery on September 19 featuring Frank Morone, who uses oil paints to reflect the beauty of the natural world that surrounds him. Frank grew up in Queens, NY, and moved to Lancaster County in 1989 to work in wood manufacturing.
In younger years, Morone experimented with watercolor, pen and ink and even tried his hand at growing Bonsai. Now retired, he paints from his home studio in Lancaster. He loves to explore the natural world and tries to represent what he experiences in his artwork.
“I go into my paintings emotionally,” he says. “When I am painting a stream I can hear the water. When I am painting the woodlands, I can feel the breeze and smell the forest.”
This will be Morone’s first public showing in the Lancaster area. The current collection of artwork reflects what he sees as well as what he imagines.
“I don’t restrict my color palette,” he says. “I am free to add pink, purple, or whatever color, at will.”
The opening reception, to which the public is welcome, is planned from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 19, in the Crossings Gallery located in the Calvin G. & Janet C. High Learning & Wellness Center.
The exhibit will continue to be on display through October 2019. For more information, call 717-381-3550.
