Your Invitation & Naomi Weaver’s Story

Naomi Weaver, a current Landis Homes resident, followed God’s calling to become a nurse and a missionary. From a young age, she knew that she was destined to serve others. Her journey as a nurse led her from Muriel, Ephrata Township, PA, all over the world. She served for many years in Kenya, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Israel, and Guam, with time spent at Landis Homes as a nurse in between.

At the end of her career, she knew where she wanted to retire – Landis Homes. Naomi enjoyed settling in at Landis Homes because several family members also lived here. Eventually, though, following the sudden onset of blindness, Naomi suffered several falls and had to move from living independently to living with assistance.

This special holiday season, you are invited to help your neighbors and friends who need assistance from the Caring Fund. Your gift to the Caring Fund by December 31 provides the same quality of care for each resident, without distinction between those with and without financial resources. Last year, 42 residents needed the assistance of the Caring Fund.

“Donating to the Caring Fund helps with the cost of care. It’s donating to a worthy cause,” Naomi said.

If you decide to participate in this invitation, you can designate a single gift to the Caring Fund, which provides for a resident today, or you can support future needs through the Caring Fund Endowment. A gift to the Caring Fund Endowment will be wisely invested and provide care for residents who need it in the future. Your gift to the endowment ensures that Landis Homes is prepared to serve our community in this special way for years to come. What better way to experience joy, help others, and finish out 2024!
