An art reception at Landis Homes on November 2 will feature the most recent works of David Allen Brubaker, a native of Indiana, who has been a resident of Lancaster County since 1972. While specializing in pencil and colored pencil drawing since his middle school days, retirement in 2011 has provided him with blocks of time to pursue his love of watercolor.

For inspiration for subject matter, he draws from local landmarks, his travels, and requests from clients. He finds the variety of his painting content both stimulating and challenging.  In addition to selling his original pieces, he has many of his works available as matted prints as well as an extensive collection of notecards.

His major employment for over forty years involved interior design and furniture sales with premier companies in the county beginning with Plastino and Owens and finishing his career associated with Interior Home.

He currently lives in Lititz and says, I find this town to be a rich environment for nurturing my creative talents and love for the arts.”

The opening reception, to which the public is welcome, will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 2, in the Harvest View lobby and galleries. Live music will be provided by Glenda Gingrich.

The works will continue to be on display through January 2018. For more information, call Landis Homes at 717-381-3550 or visit www.landishomes.org.
